The successful candidate will work closely with the product owner and business analysts to understand the business functions and requirements.The applicant should have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to review the requirements or stories and define and develop the test strategies, automation frameworks, and support defect management in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The identified candidate will work with multiple software development groups to help them deliver high-quality products. The candidate should be able to create test automation strategies following industry best-practices, continuously increase the level of automation, and playpart in reducing the time-to-market of new features asresult. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:? Conduct and adjust testing methods and practices to assess and evolve product quality? Design automation test approach. Should be able to create automation scripts using Selenium etc. Align test cases to requirements and user stories.In conjunction with the development team, decide where to build automated and manual tests, develop test data, construct, and execute exploratory, system, regression, migration, back-end, and user acceptance tests, and determine whether to create any complex environments or any major improvements for the automation frameworks.? Write clear and concise defect reports and work as an empathetic advocate for the customer's quality experience.Triage and prioritize defects for remediation with the development team.Conduct exploratory testing during each sprint to detect defects not captured by conventional methods and facilitate testing workshops.? Automate processes within mainframe applications to improve efficiency and accuracy? Build and design testing for automation? Analyze industry best practices to recommend improvements to methodology, test environments and workflow to promote an efficient and cost-effective UAT process.? Collaborate actively with the development teamEmbed with development teams and infuse quality in every phase of the software development lifecycle by providing continuous feedback from QA standpoint regarding standards, user experience, possible performance issues, and future bugs.? Participate in product design and requirements analysis, work with the team during project planning to accurately estimate work (data creation, test cases/acceptance test design, test execution, framework design/improvements, scripting tasks, setup environments, etc.) and scope release deliverables (prioritizing defects and bugs).? Lead user-centric testing initiatives and provide product team insights to help improve the product? Create and execute acceptance criteria based on requirements, assessing usefulness of test cases, and adjusting approach where required.? Troubleshoot when problems arise and contribute to their resolution inhands-on manner as requiredDo you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? University or College Degree or equivalent experience in IT? 5+ years of QA lead experience? 4+ years of automation skills in VB script, Java (Selenium)3+ years of API automationExperience with Playwright test framework, and GitHub Copilot is idealWorking knowledge with Java, JavaScript, and Python and other scripting languages? Knowledge of testing background in the Canadian financial services industry? Transfers knowledge and provide guidance to support business objectives.?
