Shear Operator - Metal Fabrication

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Platework manufacturing company. Sheet metal shop. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Record information on products inspected. Monitor machine during operation. Load, feed or place materials into machine. Cut, shape and fit materials to form parts and components. Check manufactured items for defects and conformance to specifications. Clean work area. Equipment and machinery experience: Power presses. Punch presses. Shears.
