*Role Overview:*

5 Star Security Services is looking for a dedicated, detail-driven, and proactive individual with a strong commitment to safety and supporting others in a residential facility. This role requires a balance of physical readiness, mental sharpness, and the flexibility to handle a variety of tense environments and scenarios with professionalism.

*Position Details:*

* *Employment Type:* Full-time (32-48 hours weekly)
* *Start Date* : May, 01 2026
* *Site Location:* Halifax Waterfront
* *Contract Type:* Ongoing
* *Compensation:* $17.50/hour (increases to $18.00/hour after probation)
* *Vacation Pay:* 4%
* *Health Benefits:* Not included at this time
* *Payroll:* Bi-weekly
* *Shifts:* Morning, Evening, and Night shifts available (rotating 8 hours, including weekends and holidays)
* *Reporting To: *Operations Manager

*Important Information for Applicants:*

* Applicants authorized to work on a work permit must hold a valid permit with at least one year remaining at the time of application.
* This position is full-time only; part-time or casual availability will not be considered.
* Please note that AIP or PNP sponsorship is not available for this role

*Requirements:*

*Age & Eligibility:*

* Must be 19 years or older
* Legally eligible to work in Canada
* Clean criminal record
* Able to pass a criminal record check

*Experience:*

* Minimum 3 years of security experience, preferably in at-risk community locations
* Healthcare and safety experience is an asset

*Mandatory Certifications:*

* Basic Security Training (or equivalent)
* Trauma Informed Training
* Use of Force Training
* Crisis Intervention & De-escalation
* First Aid / CPR Certification

*Transportation:*

* Transportation to/from worksites is the employee?s responsibility

*Preferred Assets (Not Mandatory):*

* Customer service experience
* Familiarity with Nova Scotia Residential Tenancy Laws
* Security supervisor experience
* Training in mental health and addiction support
* Situational awareness skills
* Any additional relevant safety, security, healthcare certifications

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Follow and enforce Fivestar's protocols and site-specific guidelines set by our clients.
* Safeguard people, assets, and sensitive information.
* Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring compliance for yourself and others on-site.
* Perform thorough on-foot patrols to ensure security inside facilities and across outdoor areas.
* Respond promptly to alarms and alerts, assessing and addressing potential threats.
* Contribute to operations such as patrols, resident support, incident reporting, emergency response, and access control management.
