*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room to lead our brand new healthcare team and operating suite for eye surgeries. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional perioperative patient care, ensure surgical safety protocols are followed, and collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, attention to detail, and proficiency in surgical nursing procedures. Prior experience in hospital settings, acute care, or specialized areas such as Ophthalmology is highly valued. The Registered Nurse in this position will play a vital role in delivering high-quality surgical services within a dynamic healthcare environment.

*Responsibilities*

* Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
* Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining sterile environments and passing instruments to surgeons.
* Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout surgical procedures.
* Administer medications and manage pain control as prescribed, ensuring patient safety at all times.
* Document all aspects of patient care accurately using our electronic health records systems Accuro.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Provide post-operative care including monitoring recovery progress and educating patients on discharge instructions.
* Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards within the operating room.
* Assist with laboratory testing, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic procedures as needed.
* Support case management activities related to surgical patients, including discharge planning and follow-up care.

*Skills*

* Proven experience in hospital or surgical settings with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration.
* Experience with Ophthalmology is advantageous.
* Proficiency in electronic health record systems Accuro is preferred.
* Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient populations including children and elderly patients.
* Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures including phlebotomy and laboratory experience is beneficial.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in high-stakes environments while maintaining attention to detail.
* Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and educating patients about their care plans.
* Familiarity with pain management techniques and case management processes enhances overall patient outcomes.
