Rn (Registered Nurse)

*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for casual shifts in Brampton, Mississauga and Vaughan area for dental office.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care across various settings, including hospital, home care, assisted living, and nursing home environments. Experience with electronic health records such as Epic and Cerner is preferred. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality nursing services, including pain management, case management, and specialized care such as pediatrics, dementia, and senior care. The Registered Nurse will play a vital role in IV sedation.

*Duties*

* Administer medications accurately following physician orders and ensure proper documentation within electronic health records (Epic, Cerner).
* Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and laboratory specimen collection.
* Monitor patient vital signs and assess their condition to identify any changes requiring intervention.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, patients, and families.
* Educate patients and their families on health management, medication use, and post-discharge care instructions.
* Manage pain effectively through medication administration and alternative therapies as appropriate.
* Coordinate case management activities to ensure seamless patient transitions across different levels of care.
* Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing activities in compliance with healthcare regulations.
* Assist with medical office tasks when necessary, including patient intake and record keeping.
* Support special populations such as pediatrics, seniors with dementia or chronic conditions, ensuring compassionate and tailored care.

*Requirements*

* Valid RN license in the state of practice with current certification.
* Experience working in hospital settings or acute care environments preferred; experience with senior or dementia care is a plus.
* Proficiency with electronic health records systems such as Epic or Cerner.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and laboratory procedures like phlebotomy.
* Strong understanding of pain management strategies and case management principles.
* Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, assisted living residents, or home care clients is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients.
* Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
* Prior experience in medical office settings or nursing homes is advantageous; familiarity with working with children or senior populations preferred.
