RN (registered nurse)

Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:

· coordinate, develop and implement residents' plans of care

· organize staff assignments, set priorities

· complete assignments in a reasonable time frame

· serve as a resource person for other nursing staff

· ensure maximum safety of staff and residents

· perform all nursing skills as listed in the Ontario College of Nurses Standards

· co-ordinate all medical orders in relation to individual resident plan

· evaluate the effectiveness of resident plans of care

· liaison with other health care team members

· train/orientate new registered nursing staff, as well as non-registered nursing staff

· provide work direction, instruction & guidance to non-registered nursing staff

· participate in a multi-disciplinary approach to care/collaborate with all members of health care team

· attend meetings and participate on committees

· cope effectively in emergencies

· demonstrate leadership skills and utilize effective problem solving skills

· work safely and follow all workplace policies and procedures, to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers and residents.

Desired work experience:

· Registered nursing experience working in a long term care home

· Registered nursing experience working in a gerontology-related field

· Registered nursing experience working in an acute care facility or in community nursing

Education:

· Current certificate of competence & in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario

· Current CPR certificate

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $34.50-$54.60 per hour
