Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work setting: Dental practice. Tasks: Prepare patients for dental examinations. Prepare dental instruments and filling materials. Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment. Educate patients concerning oral hygiene. Perform intra-oral duties. Take and develop X-rays. Record dental procedures performed on patients. Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses�: Registration with provincial or territorial authorities. Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board. Personal suitability: Team player. Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Reliability. Screening questions: Are you authorized to work in Canada?. Do you have experience working in this field?.
