Ornamental Metal Worker - Metal Fabrication

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Structural steel fabrication company. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw or rivet metal parts together. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. Equipment and machinery experience: Drills. Lifting device. Overhead crane. Power presses. Punch presses. Saws. Soldering or welding equipment. Hand tools. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Cutting machine. Drawing. Forming.
