Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Odours. Work setting: Commercial printers. In-house printing, binding and finishing. Tasks: Set up and operate various specialized finishing equipment and machines. Operate automatic and semi-automatic equipment and machines to bind or finish print material according to specifications. Pack, weigh and stack bound and finished products on pallet for shipment. Perform pre-production runs of binding or finishing jobs to verify output and to ensure that product specifications are met. Perform routine maintenance. Develop policies, standards and guidelines. Conduct preventive maintenance programs. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Clean and maintain equipment. Supervise other technical staff. Computer and technology knowledge: Computerized recording equipment. Type of operation: Packaging. Equipment and machinery experience: Cutting machine. Foil stamping machine. Folder. Laminating machine. Trimmer. Coating machine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination.
