Lumenus Autism Core Clinical Services offers ABA-based behavioural services and speech and language services that are designed to address the unique needs of children with autism aged 2-14 years. We offer personalized programs in a natural school environment at our Etobicoke (65 Hartsdale Drive) and North York (155 McNicoll Avenue) locations. Lumenus Autism Core Clinical Services is a fee-for-service offering within a not-for-profit organization, Lumenus Community Services. Lumenus Community Services provides mental health, developmental and community-based services for children, youth, adults and their families. Lumenus Autism Core Clinical Services is hiring a full-time regular Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join the Lumenus Autism Core Clinical Services team. Services are primarily delivered to children diagnosed with ASD (2-14 years old). Services are delivered in person at both Etobicoke & North York locations. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT), the OTA will implement interventions to support children and youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or other developmental or motor delays to develop and improve skills needed for daily living, socialization, and play. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Treatment/Intervention/Parent Training Follow documented treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist (OT) Provide individual and/or group intervention sessions which includes coaching and modeling to parents/caregivers Initiate, plan, develop, and organize teaching materials that are engaging and conducive to the client's wellbeing and progress Ensure therapy environments is safe and engaging by assisting with the organization, maintenance, and preparation of equipment and assistive devices, and instructing clients/families in their proper use Observe, monitor, and track client performance and progress through data collection and graphing Communicate significant client performance changes promptly to the OT Guide clients in activities designed to improve motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, social skills, and daily living skills Provide coverage across sites as needed Work as part of an interdisciplinary team (e.g., OTs, SLPs, Behaviour Analysts) to ensure coordinated and comprehensive client care Follow the legal, ethical, and professional standards, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards of pratices Administration Maintain accurate and timely clinical statistics and client information on the client information system (e.g., TREAT) Complete reports and statistics as necessary Ensure service targets are met (reports completed, clients served, direct service hours and positive clinical outcomes for clients) Participate in quality improvement programs and outreach activities Promote occupational therapy services an
