The successful candidate will be responsible for providing site coordination and general operational support for the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre after regular hours. This individual will be responsible for decision-making on all issues related to client flow, appropriate bed utilization, facility management, as well as, realignment and replacement of staff for each unit based on client care and facility needs in collaboration with the staffing department. Collaboration with attending physicians, physician leaders, nursing and other program managers / directors is expected in addressing client flow, program, and clinical issues. There will be full clinical nursing responsibility in addition to full operational authority after hours. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.Required qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalentCurrent registration with the CRNNLCurrent BLS certification for health care providers from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.Demonstrated experience and knowledge in acute care.Demonstrated strong leadership and facilitation skills.Demonstrated advanced analytical and problem solving skills.Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills.Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.Consistent demonstration of NL Health Services corporate values; Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence (I CARE). A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.Preferred qualifications:Undergraduate degree in Nursing.
