Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques. Professionalism in customer service. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Wrap goods. Weigh materials and goods. Transport and distribute materials and goods. Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products. Move tools, equipment and other materials. Complete logbooks and reports. Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment. Pack and unpack goods. Build pallets. Ship orders.
