About the Role
*Medical Office Assistant*
The medical office assistant is responsible for presenting a great first impression to patients at our clinic, providing administrative support and patient care.
The candidate must be able to work independently, demonstrate strong communication skills and maintain a professional attitude. A strong customer service background is an asset.
The position involves mostly daytime shifts, but successful candidates must also be available to work some evenings and weekends.
Administrative duties involved include but are not limited to; managing incoming referrals, coordinating patient and physician schedules, answering phones, maintaining patient records and general office organization. Previous Accuro EMR Software experience is a requirement for this position. Wage commensurate with experience.
*In this position you will:*
- Greet patients in a polite and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, fax messages, emails efficiently, providing a high level of customer service.
- Respond to patient inquiries to the best of your ability, and communicate with on site clinicians & all co-workers.
- Schedule, coordinate and confirm appointments, consultation appointments and treatment appointments
- Update and maintain electronic medical records ( Accuro EMR experience preferred )with patient demographics, clinical notes and test results or referrals.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members
*Qualifications and Skills: *
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Completion of a College-accredited medical secretary or medical office administration program AND/OR equivalent work experience in medical office administration
- Strong work ethic, professional attitude and exemplary attendance
- Ability to respect the confidentiality of patient information including paper, electronic and other mediums
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proficient in English, additional languages are an asset
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Shopify, Windows OS, Microsoft Office
- Previous Accuro EMR Software experience is a preferred requirement for this position.
