About the Role
*Competitive Cheerleading Coach Position Overview*
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated Competitive Cheerleading Coach to lead and develop athletes in a dynamic competitive cheer program. The coach will be responsible for training athletes in cheer techniques, choreography, stunting, tumbling, and performance skills while fostering teamwork, discipline, and a positive team culture.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Design and implement season-long training plans for competitive cheer teams
* Teach and refine skills in stunting, tumbling, jumps, dance, and motion technique
* Choreograph and clean competition routines according to age and skill level
* Ensure athlete safety during all practices, stunts, and performances
* Supervise and spot stunting and tumbling progressions
* Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback
* Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive team environment
* Prepare teams for local, regional, and national competitions
* Coordinate music selection, routine timing, and competition requirements
* Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and program staff
* Enforce gym policies, safety guidelines, and competition regulations
*Qualifications*
* Prior experience coaching competitive cheerleading or equivalent high-level cheer experience
* Strong knowledge of stunting, tumbling, choreography, and safety procedures
* Background in cheer, gymnastics, dance, or related performance sport preferred
* Experience coaching youth or adolescent athletes
* Current CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain)
* ICU certification or equivalent
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
* Ability to motivate athletes of varying skill levels
