*Vacant PM Cook starting from 4:00 pm to 11:30pm any day of the week. *

The Courtyard by Marriott Winnipeg Airport is looking for a talented cook for the Bistro restaurant and the catering operation at the hotel. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be required to perform the following job responsibilities;

-Coordinate all hot and cold food preparation including banquet functions

-Demonstrate recipe knowledge for all soups, sauces and entrees

-Prepare, Inspect and ensure the proper set up and readiness of each item on menus with proper portioning and recipe specifications

-Maintain product consistency by conducting inspections of seasonings, portion and appearance of food

-Supervises proper storage of unused food to minimize waste and maximize quality

-Organize and maintains work areas, coolers, storage areas, utensils, equipment in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with provincial and company health regulations and work safety programs.

-Ensure that all food is stored in proper containers and at proper holding temperatures

-Prep food for next shifts

-Assist in checking coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity and quality of food products

-Ensures that proper plate presentation and requisitioning procedures

-Performs all other duties as required

-Focus On the Guest? Seek to understand the guest, internal and external guest and meet and exceed the needs of both the guest and the company

-Ensure that work is accurate, thorough and to the highest standards.

-Ensures proper food handling procedures are strictly followed and maintains clean workstations

Required Education:

* High school or equivalent
* Candidates with a minimum of 1 year? experience or certification in a culinary discipline will be considered
