GBME is searching for Java Software Engineers who are continuous learners and are eager to boost capabilities of capital markets products and analytics platforms. The role focuses mainly on backend development using Java / Spring Boot / RESTful API with potential opportunities for front end development. (Approx. 70/30 split)The successful candidate will have a strong technical and engineering mindset. You will work closely with business teams and cross functional engineering leaders to develop and implement market leading solutions for the various projects within GBME. Is this role right for you? In this role you will:Work closely with end users, and business teams to understand business needs, conduct gap analysis and requirements assessments as neededPartner with Architecture on the design and integrationDeliver and enhance new and current solutions and applicationsBe involved in the full life cycle of a project, responsible for producing actionable and complete specifications, writing production quality code, and implementation Design, deliver and implement a database schemaDesign test sets and automate where possible, including functional and non functional testing, regression testing as well as performance testingWrite deployment scripts and leverage tools such as the Accelerator pipeline to promote codeSupport the solution in production (as needed)Improve the end user experience by finding scalable solutions and addressing complex ad hoc queries.Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiencesAble to work with and refactor legacy code (as needed). Coach and train end users (as needed). Participate and run SCRUM Meetings (as needed). Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:5 years of recent experience in backend development (Specifically Java / SpringBoot )5 years of recent experience in Microservices and API development in an enterprise environmentWorking experience of database and SQL (e.g., Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle)Working experience with Shell scripting in Unix/Linux environmentsWorking experience in an Agile environment, with experience and understanding of Test-Driven Development methodologyBachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications Capital Markets experience (Understanding of Front, Middle and Back office operations)Experience with Messaging Frameworks; MQs/ Kafka/ RedisExperience working with real-time, high availability and low latency systems Experience in Java multi-threaded applicationsWorking experience with containerized systems in public cloud (Azure or GKE/GCP)What's in it for you?
