*This role is responsible for:*
* All aspects of the Electrical & Pneumatic Build of Custom Automated Equipment, including, but not limited to Panel Build, Field Wiring, Pneumatic Plumbing of Cylinders, Start-up, Commissioning, Installation & Service.
* Promote and enforce a safe, clean, organized and healthy work environment through planned work habits in accordance with Provincial Labour Regulations, Health and Safety Regulations and company policies and procedures.
* Be an active team member from the initiation phase of the project through the complete life cycle of the project including installation, service and warranty.
* Understand all specifications of the project.
* Ensure that systems and processes are consistently used so that every job is adequately planned for and executed according to project specifications from project kick-off to the project completion. This includes the following:
* When called upon, taking part in internal design review meetings.
* Work with the Controls Designer/Programmer, Manufacturing Manager and Project Manager to make recommendations for: ease of wiring and/or assembly; methods of cost savings; and ease of set-up.
* Work with the Controls Designer/Programmer to identify what BOM items are in stock and can be used in the Controls Design.
* Complete a thorough review of the Controls Design Package with the Controls Designer/Programmer assigned to the project.
* Work with the Project Manager, Manufacturing Manager and the Controls Designer/Programmer to provide estimates on the number of hours it will take to complete the Controls aspect of the project.
* Communicate with Project Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Controls Designer/Programmer, and the other project team members on a regular basis to discuss project status, open issues, and project changes. \* Perform any the panel wiring, field wiring and pneumatic assembly required during the progress of the job build
* Work with the Controls Technicians and Designer/Programmer to start-up & commission the equipment.
* When called upon, travel to the customer?s facility and provide installation, set-up, and support of the equipment
* Work with the other project team members, as required, through the set-up and de-bug of the equipment with customer parts and the preparation of the equipment for run-off.
* Provide technical support, as required, during the run-off of the equipment.
* Assist Department & Project Managers to ensure Job budget targets are met, or exceeded.
* Ensure that any recognized Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) opportunities throughout the course of the project are adequately documented
* Assist the management team to determine a build schedule
* Work with the other project team members to resolve any open issues on the equipment prior to shipment.
* Attend any meetings as requested
* Assist the production team in troubleshooting and solving production & quality problems
* Participate, as required, in the research, trial/development, selection of new technology to improve the products provided to our customers
* Assist the Global Vehicle Systems team in ensuring that the quality of our product(s) meet or exceed the customer?s expectations.
*Desired Skills and Experience:*
* Interprovincial Industrial Electrician (442A)
* Minimum 3 years of experience
* Experience in assembly plant
