Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Various locations. Rural area. Tasks: Operate heavy equipment. Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS). Complete onboard and other logs. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Secure special attachments to equipment. Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products. Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures. Area of work experience: Landscaping. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Sound discrimination. Sitting.
