Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Analyze hair and scalp condition. Shampoo customers' hair. Supervise other hair stylists and other staff. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures. Provide job training and support. Teach workshops to trades students. Advise job applicants on employment requirements and terms and conditions of employment. Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews. Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Barbering Trade Certification. Hairstylist Trade Certification. Hairstyling Red Seal Certificate. Barber Licence. Hairstylist Licence. Hair styling techniques: Blow drying. Iron waving/curling. Experience: Experience an asset. Employment terms options: Day. Workplace information: Hybrid. Financial benefits: Mileage paid.
