*The Position:*

This is a full-time on-site role for a Security Officer located in Thompson, MB. The Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the assigned site, conducting routine patrols to prevent unauthorized access, responding to alarms or incidents, monitoring security systems, and maintaining accurate logs and reports. The Security Officer will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service and assisting with emergency response procedures as needed.

Working on assigned shifts, you will act as a physical presence who is capable of securing the assigned site.

*The Ideal Security Guard After Training:*

* Monitors overall activity on the site to ensure a safe and secure environment.
* Maintains strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning trespassing, infractions, and enforcement of company/ client procedures rules, and regulations.
* Be comfortable with radio communication
* Experience in security operations and procedures
* Knowledge of access control systems and CCTV monitoring
* Strong observation and attention to detail skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm and handle emergency situations effectively
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Initiate investigations of security-related incidents
* Operate in a professional, business-centered environment where customer service, confidentiality, and integrity are held to a high standard.
* Assist EMS or other officials during emergency situations.
* Perform other related duties and special project functions as assigned.
* Ensure the overall safety and protection of people, property, and equipment at processing plants.
* Approach a situation with a listening mindset
* Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication.
* Must hold and maintain applicable security guard certifications and licenses.
* Must be flexible on schedule, including availability for weekends and holidays.

*Requirements for the position:*

* Manitoba resident or valid work permit, able to relocate
* Valid security license/certification
* Physical fitness and ability to perform regular patrols and standing for long periods of time
* First Aid/CPR certification is a plus
* Have excellent communication skills
* Have a keen eye for observing exterior and interior premises
