We are looking for an experienced General Machinist to join our team. We offer excellent working conditions and an exciting work environment with projects all over the world. This key position reports to our Plant Manager.
*Duties:*
� Interpret drawings, blueprints, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, tools to be used, materials for the job and setup requirements
� Provide verification of dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments
� Fit and assemble machine components and parts to industry and safety standards
� Ensure work piece dimensions are correct and to established tolerances
� Measure, examine and test completed parts
� Perform preventative maintenance as required
� Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust as required
� Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
� Set up, operate and maintain a variety of manual machine tools
� Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools
� Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and comply with Company ISO Standards, policies and safety regulations
� Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments
� Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
� Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
*Qualifications:*
� High School Diploma or equivalent
� Four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of four years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining
. CNC experience an asset
� Minimum one year experience operating manual machines in a heavy manufacturing environment
� Familiar with internal and external grinders and lathe milling machines
� Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications
� Ability to work with tight tolerances on dies and punches
� Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments
� Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines
� Ability to communicate clearly in English and follow written and oral instructions
� Ability to fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during machine setup, maintenance, or overhaul.
� Security Background check to work in our Controlled Goods workplace.
