About the Role
Whiteline Driveaway Services is seeking experienced Class 1 and 3 Drivers to join our growing team in Edmonton and Calgary. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of a variety of different vehicles (water/vac/gravel trucks, snow plows, cranes, concrete pumpers/mixers, etc). This job requires a lot of buses, planes, rental cars and towing chase trucks to get to and from locations. Long haul trips require over night hotels. We move anywhere in continental Canada and the USA. The level of care and professionalism is beyond normal trucking as we are delivering assets for other companies. Many of these units are brand new, and are already set for work, so responsibility is of the utmost importance.
Work can come in bursts, so flexibility is important. We are looking for people who are ok with a mix of part time and full time, as nothing is guaranteed, its all work as it comes. Although we do have steady work, and a growing customer base. We are looking for drivers for the long term to grow the company with.
Responsibilities:
- Moving customer vehicles under their own power from one location to another.
- Keeping up to date Log book.
- Logging mileage for IFTA.
- Border paperwork on US runs.
- Permit paperwork when required.
- Customer driven service.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience driving truck. Mountain experience is a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle and transport trucks responsibly and securely.
Requirements:
- *Class 1 or Class 3 with airbrakes. This is a must. *
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant driving experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and extended periods on the road.
- Understanding Canadian and Northern US winter driving conditions.
Wage details:
- On local/day runs, we pay hourly. This includes travel time on buses, taxis, rental, etc.
- On long haul we pay per KM. We also have rates for travel miles on flights, taxi's, rentals, etc.
- Benefits to be discussed for full time employee's.
- There is room for wages to grow as experience is gained.
