Areas inside the building include offices, washrooms, locker change rooms, production area, warehouse and laboratories and externally clearing snow in the winter months.Note: This is a day shift position from Wednesday to Sunday. Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.As a Custodian, your responsibilities will include:Cleans and sanitizes all drains in the Plant as per Drains cleaning procedures and schedule.Handles and dispenses chemicals wearing appropriate PPE as prescribed for the job.Lifts drain covers, scrubs drain cover and basket and performs tasks that involves walking, bending and lifting. Need Physical stamina for performing repetitive tasks.Operates chemical mixing equipment, foamer and other equipment and tools as required.Performs swabbing of drains as required for Environmental swabbing schedule.Cleans drains and submits swabs to bacteria labs for any NCRs for positive Listeria, salmonella, E coli or any other pathogens as per Food safety procedures.Participates in Continuous Improvement activities and submits Kaizens.Performs assignments in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule work Instructions.Performs cleaning of all areas of the facility including equipment:Pressure WashingPower ScrubbingSweeping, Dusting, MoppingChecks, cleans and maintains sanitary condition of silo penthouses, cleans and changes bin vent socks, and maintains master sanitation schedule of all silo houses.Loads all recycled containers on trailer and coordinates pickups with contractor.Coordinates removal of all scrap product with contractor, cleans and maintains designated scrap product removal area.Cleans all scrap product containers and logs clean up information in a logbook.Responsible for dust collector cleaning schedule for 24 dust collectors.Changes socks, verifies safety conditions prior to clean up and documents confined space entry permits.Ensures all garbage containers are emptied as scheduled.Performs other related duties as assigned.Understands and follows all security policies.The Custodian position may be right for you if you:Have an ability to safely lift up to 25-50 lbs. on a regular basis.Qualified candidates will have:High school diploma - Required.Work that requires working at heights, on ladders and/or skyjacks.Willingness to work onsite in Scarborough 5 days per week.What will set you apart:Confined space experience is considered an asset.Experience working in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is considered an asset.This is a safety sensitive position, and it requires the use of an N9 NIOSH-approved fitted respirator ("N95") or an approved alternative. Successful candidates will be required to go through appropriate fit-testing and will be required to wear an N95 while performing their duties.
