Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses�: Air Brakes Endorsement. Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Defensive Driving Course. Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel overnight. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
