*OVERVIEW OF POSITION*
Reporting to the Summer Camp Director, the Summer Camp Leaders play a vital role in creating positive camp experiences for participants. This position will assist the Summer Camp Director in the operation and delivery of the summer camp programs
*MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Prepare and deliver a theme-oriented children?s recreational program to meet the needs of all participants registered in the program.
* Attend and actively participate in staff training sessions and meetings as required.
* Ensure the health and safety of all campers throughout their participation in the summer camp.
* Ensure the daily activities are safe, creative, age-appropriate and inclusive of all program participants.
* Supervise and care for the well-being of campers throughout the duration of the summer camp program.
* Carry out necessary tasks such as setup, cleanup, and other day-to-day operations as directed by the Summer Camp Director.
* Adhere to all camp policies and procedures to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone involved.
* React to emergency situations and behaviour management issues in accordance with department approved procedures and trainings.
* Maintain accurate records (i.e. attendance and medical) for all participants registered in the program.
* Promptly report any concerns, incidents, or accidents to the Summer Camp Director, or designate.
* Perform any other duties as assigned.
*POSITION REQUIREMENTS*
* Genuine interest in working with children of all ages.
* Knowledge, training and implementation of behaviour management and childhood development is an asset.
* Camp specific experience is an asset. Strong problem solving and program planning skills.
* Completion of a Leadership In Training (LIT) program is considered an asset.
* Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED certification is required.
* HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) is considered an asset.
* Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (CRC) including vulnerable sector screening.
* All applicants must provide confirmation of full-time student status in current academic year and/or acceptance into full-time studies in September 2026.
* Must be a minimum of 15 years of age or older by May 30, 2026.
*WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT*
* The incumbent in this position will work a maximum of 40 hours per week in variable 8-hour shifts between 7
