Over the past 15 years, we have evolved from one beloved neighborhood cafe to a collection of six shops in vibrant neighborhoods across the city.About the PositionThe Part-Time Barista at Dark Horse?s cafe will support in creating an exceptional experience for both employees and customers. Candidates should bring a mix of business awareness, natural hospitality, and strong soft skills. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about contributing to a coffee-focused hospitality environment and eager to take on the rewarding challenges that come with a dynamic part-time role.Key Responsibilities:Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system.Prepare beverages and food items according to our high-quality standards.Support relationships with current suppliers and assist in developing new ones.Build connections with the local business community to promote the cafe.Assist with in-store merchandising to showcase products and support sales performance.Follow all operational policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and security.Ensure compliance with Ontario?s business and employment regulations.Step in or assign staff coverage during absences or illness.Assist in managing efficient ordering processes.Maintain knowledge of Health, Safety, and Food Handling practices and ensure standards are upheld.Keep the cafe clean, organized, and visually appealing.Requirements:Must have 1 year experience as BaristaAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-30 poundsBasic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions. Smart Serve Certification is an asset Availability & Compensation: Expected hours: up to 24 hours per weekPart Time- Early morning and weekend availability required.Eligible for gratuities according to our tip allocation policy.What we OfferA fast-paced environment with plenty of room to learn and grow, while also contributing to a successful and exciting business environment. ????????????Big League Food Company (parent company of Dark Horse Espresso Bar) is the next generation of beloved food brands.
