Job Overview

Sumaq Iraqi Charcoal Grill is looking for a skilled, reliable, and passionate *Baker* to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing fresh breads, pastries, and baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and consistency. This role is essential in delivering fresh products that reflect the quality and authenticity of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare, mix, and bake a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods
* Follow recipes, production schedules, and portion standards accurately
* Ensure all baked items are prepared fresh and presented to company standards
* Monitor ingredient quality and report shortages or spoilage
* Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
* Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently
* Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times
* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
* Assist with inventory control and stock rotation
* Work closely with kitchen staff and management to meet daily production needs
* Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all baked items
* Support the team with prep work and other kitchen duties as needed

Qualifications

* Previous experience as a baker or in a similar kitchen/bakery role preferred
* Knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and oven use
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
* Good time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
* Food Handler Certification is an asset
* Ability to lift up to [e.g. 25 lbs / 11 kg] and stand for extended periods

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
