Accounting Technician

As a member of the MJHA Operations team, the Accounting Technician is responsible for the provision of bookkeeping and accounting services, with related administrative duties, for the Moose Jaw Housing Authority. This is a temporary full-time position with regular hours of work being as per the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. POSITION REQUISITES:- Degree or diploma in accounting, commerce, or business administration, plus five (5) years experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated abilities:- Proficient using computerized software programs, such as: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and Internet applications;- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; excellent knowledge of computerized accounting programs, payroll procedures;- Comprehension and application of procedural systems quickly and critically in a complex computerized accounting environment;- Comprehension of standard monthly/year end accounting procedures;- Highly developed organizational skills;- Knowledge and/or experience in working with seniors and/or typical tenants;- Work effectively in a team-based environment.
