Regional staff members are involved in the delivery of the Provincial Home Repair, Home Modification, Home Energy Savings, Partner Managed Housing, and Rent Supplement Programs.Position DetailsCompetition Number:2025/26-042-800198PEmployment Type: 1 Permanent Department/Region: Grand Falls Winsor Location: Central Regional OfficePosting Status: External Closing Date: January 31, 2026Salary Scale: $70,434 to $78,824 per annum (CG-39, $38.70 to $43.31 per hour), 35-hour work weekDuties: Reporting to the Regional Director, the successful candidate will engage with tenants and apply NLHC's eviction prevention framework to achieve the goal of maintaining stable housing. In completing this work, the incumbent will provide individualized and on-going support to tenants from initiating contact and follow-up activities such as telephone calls and home visits. Eviction Prevention work involves engaging clients to educate on tenant's rights and responsibilities as tenants, to connect to supports and support the development of tenant action plans that will decrease the risk for eviction. The Social Worker I will also provide unplanned, short-term crisis response for clients experiencing complex needs, mental health and addictions. The incumbent will work with tenants on an ongoing basis to build capacity to be independently successful. This includes the assessment of client needs and providing connections/referrals to a variety of community groups, government agencies and health authorities. In addition, this position provides Community Development support to the regional community centre by attending quarterly program development committee meetings and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines for quarterly grants and special funding. The Social Worker I will help clients navigate systems required to improve their own mental health and well-being, while maintaining stable housing, as well as participating in case conferences and maintaining correspondence with various medical, para-medical, and government departments. This work involves collaboration with other NLHC staff, regions and departments including Housing Officers, Managers, Eviction Prevention Coordinator and the Community Partnerships and Homelessness team, to jointly support clients all along the housing continuum.
