This is therapeutic work in the treatment of persons affected with physical disabilities as a result of illness, injury, or disabling conditions. This position receives direction from a Registered Physiotherapist and duties involve a significant amount of patient handling as treatment plans are implemented. Clinical training/supervision will be provided by regional Physiotherapy staff. Regional travel may be required. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centred care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.Required qualifications:Graduation from a recognized Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Assistant Program approved by NLHS.Demonstrated body mechanics and lifting techniques.Consistent demonstration of NL Health Service's core values; Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence (ICARE)A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
