The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements. Constantly moves/lifts up to 10-15lbs, regularly moves/lifts up to 50lbs; required to restrain/reposition/move/lift up to, or above, 50lbs with co-worker assistance and repetitively required to complete pushing/pulling with medium force (22-44lbsF).? Constantly stands/walks. May work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with care. Work repetitively involves reaching/stretching, bending/twisting and repeated bouts of low-level postures such as squatting, crouching or stooping.? Potential for exposure to blood, bodily fluids and/or other contagion. May be exposed to patients/residents with potential risk for aggressive behavior.? Work Environments present potential for exposure to scented/chemical products and/or other allergens within publicly accessible areas.Required qualifications:? Graduation from a practical nursing program approved by NL Health Services.? Current BLS certification.? Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfound-land and Labrador.? Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.? Demonstrated competency in working to the full scope of practice (as per the CLPNNL and Central Health?s policies and procedures) and standards of care relevant to designated client population.? Completion of other skills and post basic competencies as required.? Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and support the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes as re-quired. ? Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse for patients where the acuity or complexity of care requires an advanced level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.? Demonstrated proficiency in Wound Care Management and Medication Administration including IM, IV and subcutaneous injections. ? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.? A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.Preferred Qualifications:?
