licensed cook

The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and distributing safe, nutritious, and appetizing food to residents and staff. This position will involve shift work.

*Duties will include but will not be limited to:*

* assisting in preparation of special diet items as required;
* supervising meal distribution and portioning during meal service;
* assisting Dietitian and Food Service Supervisor with menu planning;
* operating institutional equipment;
* assisting with orientation and training of new staff;
* supervising Nutrition Services staff in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor and Food Service Manager;
* baking;
* other duties as required.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

* Successful completion of recognized professional cooking program and/ or Red Seal certification preferred. Alternatively a combination of five (5) years recent cooking/baking experience in a commercial or institutional setting where substantial food quantities are prepared maybe considered.
* The successful applicant must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
* The successful applicant must have a good previous work and attendance record.

*Salary Range:* $33.51 - $34.39 per hour

*Bi-Weekly Hours:* 30 Hours Bi-Weekly / 5:30am ? 1:30pm / 10:30am ? 6:30pm; Weekends Required
